Tibial intramedullary nail is an orthopedic implant specifically designed to stabilize and support fractures of the tibia (the larger bone in the lower leg). This surgical technique is popular because it is minimally invasive, promotes effective fracture healing, and allows for early mobilization of the patient.
The MASTIN intramedullary nail is a long, thin rod that is inserted into the medullary canal of the tibia. The canal runs through the center of the tibia and provides a strong, stable environment for the nail to be fixed. The surgery is usually done through a small incision near the knee or ankle, and the intramedullary nail is inserted into it. Once the intramedullary nail is inserted, screws are used at each end to firmly fix it to the bone.
The intramedullary nail set consists of MASTIN tibial nail, end cap, DCD locking bolt, locking bolt etc parts.
Advantages of Expert Tibial Nail
1.The lower profile at the proximal end
2.Controllable axial compression hole, The maximal compression distance is 7mm
3. 9º anteflexion design for ease of nail insertion
Versatile proximal locking options:
Three innovative locking options, in combination with cancellous bone locking screws, increase the stability of the proximal fragment for proximal third fractures.
Two state of the art medio-lateral locking options enable primary compression or secondary controlled dynamization.
End cap prevents ingrowth of tissue and facilitates nail extraction
0mm end cap sits flush with nail 5mm and 10mm end caps extend nail height if nail is over inserted
Cannulated
Self-locking recess for effortless end cap pick-up and ease of insertion
Advanced distal locking options:
Distal oblique locking option to prevent soft tissue damage and increase stability of
the distal fragment
Two ML and one AP locking options for stability of the distal fragment
Cancellous bone locking screws:
Indicated for the three proximal locking options of all tibial nails diameters
Dual core design for optimized purchase in cancellous bone
Unicortical
Lengths: 40 mm–75 mm
Standard locking screws:
Larger cross section for improved mechanical resistance
Φ4.0 mm for Φ8.0 mm and Φ9.0 mm tibial nails, lengths: 28 mm–58 mm
Φ5.0 mm for Φ10.0 mm tibial nails, lengths: 28 mm–68 mm
